I like to ride my exercise bike.
I can do that no matter what the weather.
I try to do 5-10 minutes here and there to equal 30-60 minutes a day.
Sometimes instead of biking I will walk my neighborhood. I like to do that in the morning when it is not so hot. I don’t do that in the winter for it is too cold.
At work I try to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
I park further away from stores than I used to.
Once a week I spend 5-10 minutes lifting 3lb weights.
It is the little things that add up to great exercise. I play with my dogs. That is not nothing. That burns calories and it provides me with activity.
I do not have to carve an hour or two into my day to get a great workout. I just need five minutes here and there to do part of it. I do the little things when I have time, and it does add up.
Some days I spend time just dancing to music on the radio. That is a great cardio workout.
If I think of exercising for an entire hour I will not do it. If I break it down into 5-10 minute increments, I will do it. It does seem as big. I get the same impact. My heart rate increases. I burn the calories.
I just do not sit on the bike getting bored out of my mind, which is what happens with a 60 minute workout.
Some days I like to add extra to my workout. I will do some situps or find a small routine on the internet to perform, if I have the time.
I try to exercise every day except Sunday because that is the day of rest.
The most important thing is to make exercise fun so it is something I want to do.
