Hi,
Reynolds Tavern in Annapolis Maryland at 7 Church Circle serves a really great afternoon tea, English style.
It's a colonial American building from 1747 that has been restored. They have a few rooms as a B&B, and also serve dinner.
You can have a cream tea, dessert tea, or a Royal tea. They use loose leaf teas, offer decaffeinated varieties, a white tea, and blooming tea, and everyone gets their own teapot, so you can share different tastes of teas. Or you can have champagne, beer, wine, juice, or sparkling water. But why not sample the teas while you are there?
The raisin scones were great (so were the cranberry orange ones) and they had savory tarts and pies, cucumber sandwiches, ham sandwiches, and vegetarian dishes. You can also buy take-out.
They really should offer clotted cream, but only offer whipped cream and strawberry jam with their scones.
Pastries included a delicious shortbread, raspberry crumble squares, lemon squares, and something chocolate.
They also have a full lunch menu with novelties like bangers and mash, crab stuffed portabella, gourmet soups, sandwiches, salads, and quiche.
Overall, it was very pleasant atmosphere, great service, relaxing, and filling.
Prices were very good for the area.
Will definitely go again.
